Adopt a Highway

We adopted Stacy Road from Greenville Avenue on the east to Central Expressway on the west and we are responsible for keeping "Our Highway" clean. Four times a year we assemble at the Allen Cafe for an early breakfast. The Community Service Chairperson distributes orange vests, gloves and trash bags, and we head for the "Open Road". Rotarians from the east and Rotarians from the west scour the the area, scooping up everything immaginable, and converge at mid point with our trash bags filled to overflowing.The thirsty scavengers are rewarded with cold drinks as they display their "take" and turn in their equipment. 

The Rotary Club of Allen Sunrise would like to thank Donna Kliewer for supplying the equipment, helping us make this contribution to our community possible, and even rewarding us with a recognition plaque.
